Ana Tamayo es una artista de origen colombiano, formada en una escuela de negocios de Medellín. A los 26 años, se fue a París a estudiar arte. Es licenciada en Artes por la Universidad de París 8, en la especialidad de Arte Contemporáneo y Fotografía.
Ha recibido becas de residencia artística de los Ministerios de Cultura de Francia y Colombia, como "Nuevas relaciones con el capital" 2016, "Beca de circulación nacional" 2019 y "Jeunes ESTivants " 2021. Formó parte de la 65ª selección del Salon du Montrouge celebrada en 2021, donde ganó el premio "Primera Publicación" de la edición Tribew. Fue publicada en la revista de crítica social y experimentos literarios Jef Klak en 2015, así como en el catálogo de Grand Paris Photo en 2017.
Su obra ha sido objeto de exposiciones individuales en el Micro-Centro de Arte l'Eprouvette ("Antlia", París, 2019), en la Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo Casa Très Patios ("Oikos", Medellín, 2016) y en el Cubo Negro de París VIII ("Monuments", Saint-Denis, 2014). También ha participado en varias exposiciones colectivas, especialmente en la Cité Internationale des Arts ("Attaches", París, 2017-2018), en el CAC MMaintenant Synésthésie ("Penser la photographie, des images et des formes", Saint-Denis, 2017), en el Grand Paris Photo ("Alter", 6b en Saint-Denis, 2017) y en los Rencontres d'Arles Off en 2017. También participó en la creación y dirección de la película colectiva y artesanal "No Ouestern" con los Scotcheuses, en la ZAD de Notre Dame des Landes en 2014.

Née à Granada (Colombie) en 1982, Ana Tamayo vit entre Paris (France) et Medellín (Colombie). Elle obtient en 2014 un master II en Arts plastiques spécialisé en art contemporain et en photographie à Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis. En 2022, elle est lauréate du programme avec la Fondation Carasso et la Cité Internationale des Arts, la même année elle expose à la réputée galerie Marcelle Alix. Elle participe à la 65e sélection du Salon de Montrouge (2021) et remporte le prix « Première publication » de l'édition Tribew. Son travail a fait l'objet d'une exposition personnelle au Micro-Centre d'art l'Eprouvette, Paris (2019) et à la Fondation d'Art Contemporain Casa Très Patios, Medellín (2016). Elle a également participé à plusieurs expositions collectives notamment à la Cité internationale des arts, Paris (2017-2018), au CAC MMaintenant Synesthésie, Saint-Denis (2017), au 6b à Saint-Denis (2017) et au festival Off des Rencontres d'Arles en 2017, avec le collectif Alter.

Elle a reçue des bourses de résidence artistique des ministères de la Culture français et colombien comme la bourse de recherche et création « Nouveau rapports au capital » 2016, « Bourse de circulation nationale » 2019 ou encore « Jeunes ESTivants » 2021 . Elle fait partie de la 65e sélection du Salon du Montrouge qui a eu lieu en 2021, où elle a remporté le prix « Première publication » de l'édition Tribew. Elle a été publiée dans la revue de critique sociale et d'expériences littéraires Jef Klak en 2015, ainsi qu'au catalogue du Grand Paris Photo en 2017.

Ana Tamayo is an artist of Colombian origin, trained in a large business school in Medellin. At the age of 26, she went to Paris to study art. She has a Master's degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Contemporary Art and Photography at the University of Paris 8.
She has received grants for artistic residency from the French and Colombian Ministries of Culture, such as the grant for research and creation "New relationship to capital" 2016, "National Circulation Grant" 2019 and "Young Artists" 2021. It is part of the 65th selection of the Salon du Montrouge held in 2021, where it won the prize "First publication" of the Tribew edition. She was published in the magazine of social criticism and literary experiments Jef Klak in 2015, as well as in the catalog of Grand Paris Photo in 2017.
Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Micro-Centre d'art l'Eprouvette ("Antlia", Paris, 2019), at the Casa Très Patios Contemporary Art Foundation ("Oikos", Medellin, 2016) and at the Cube Noir in Paris VIII ("Monuments", Saint-Denis, 2014). This series of photographs and objects that becomes an installation are the first two parts of the Queer Constellation. The black and white printed photographs are made from queer fetish objects, in a performative gesture of surveying intimate and public places. The images are intervened with words. There emerges a language of Abya Yala's intersectional feminism. One could say a queer and anti-racist eco feminism.
On the other hand, photographs of performances with starry backgrounds are used as metaphors. On the one hand this re-situates the human in a geological and cosmic scale, on the other hand it shows different constellations or worlds co-inhabiting together. A world that contains many worlds as the Zapatistas say.
This installation around a feminist SF tells the utopia of a queer community, propelled by the global south, which seeks autonomy of its food and health and does not want to reproduce the society of today. It is in search of in search of ancestral and contemporary body memories and ecological knowledge to redefine their territories and boundaries in different parts of the world and in cyber space. This series is imagined as a diversity of constellations where | address issues such as care through medicinal plants, emotional digestion, dancing as a way of performing bodily and self-care tools; gender deconstruction, alternative thoughts and writings.
In this context | program different laboratories and collective workshops that allow the movement of bodies and thoughts, the conversation and the construction of multiple points of view, in collaborative care environments. Some of these collective and individual photographs are the result of invitations and the setting up of the workshop "Pelvica": danced ritual, medicinal plants, drawing and automatic writing & collective performance photography. These laboratories were activated in Colombia, with the help of the traversées grant, at the Tour Mercuriales in Bagnolet within Plateau Urbain and at the Cité Internationale des Arts, as a laureate of the Fondation Carasso. This series is currently in post-production, is open and will continue.
